The zipper doesn’t snag on the fleece at all, which is a huge plus for me. It’s warm enough for freezing morning hikes but breathes well when I start working up a sweat.

Wore this on a 20-mile hike in the Rockies and the fleece kept me comfortable even when the temperature dropped at sunset. The zip moves easily enough to vent heat without bunching up under my pack straps.

The zip sits flat enough that I forget it's there under a shell, but the fleece is thick enough for a chilly ridge-line. I reached the summit sweating lightly, unzipped on the way down, and never felt clammy or cold.
