The mesh panels under the arms let me keep up a hard hike without feeling clammy and the half zip makes layering easy. It's warm enough for winter but doesn't slow me down when I start sweating.

I wore this for a cold morning run and the ZoneKnit panels kept me from overheating, while the merino wool stayed completely dry. The fabric has a nice weight to it without feeling restrictive.

The half zip makes it easy to dump heat mid-hike without pulling my jacket off entirely, and the merino doesn't get that clammy feel other synthetics do. It's surprisingly soft against the skin for a heavyweight layer.
